Shakira & Hard Rock Unveil Global Women's Empowerment Campaign on Women's Day

  • Hard Rock International and Shakira launch a global year-long initiative to empower women to break barriers
  • 1,000 women-led performances and fundraising efforts will be aimed to inspire women through stories, authenticity and music
  • The initiative will fund education and social growth for girls in underserved Colombian communities

 

In honor of International Women’s Month and Women’s Day on March 8, Hard Rock International joins force with music icon Shakira, to launch a global initiative to empower women and drive meaningful change. The year-long initiative aims to encourage and inspire women through engaging activities, music programs and philanthropic efforts. Hard Rock International is featuring 1,000 women-led performances and driving fundraising efforts through the Hard Rock Heals Foundation during International Women’s Month.

As a part of its commitment to drive social change, Hard Rock foundation will allocate a portion of proceeds to Shakira’s Pies Descalzos Foundation. This aid will be dedicated to champion education and social development for girls in underserved Colombian communities and support local-women’s organizations. The foundation is donating $250,000 to the initiative to celebrate voices and resilience of women everywhere.

Hard Rock cafes roll out a special Shakira-curated menu that honors the superstar’s Lebanese roots. Signature dishes such as “Hips Don’t Lie” cocktail, global cuisine favorites, and a Colombian burger, are amongst a few delicacies that will be served. To extend further support, the music star also fronts the brand’s International Women’s Month apparel, available in stores and online.
