  • She brings a lot of brand and marketing expertise to her new role

PUMA welcomes Tara McRae to the position of new President of PUMA North America, representing an important milestone on her lengthy path with the brand. Tara comes with extensive knowledge of the company, having just worked as Senior VP of Marketing and Brand Strategy.

She returned to PUMA in 2024, coming back to familiar terrain after a decade with the brand between 2006 and 2016 in marketing and media capacities. Her appointment indicates both her knowledge and strong association with PUMA's development in the area.

Tara McRae formally joined her new position as President of PUMA North America, with an intimate understanding of the brand and extensive marketing expertise. She takes over from Bob Philion, who leaves following two decades of service with PUMA—eight years as president.

She cycle with PUMA is complete, having re-joined in 2024 as Senior Vice President of Brand Strategy and Marketing. Her history with the company traces back even earlier, with ten years of leadership through media planning and marketing from 2006-2016.

PUMA's Chief Commercial Officer, Matthias Bäumer, welcomed the appointment, commenting, "Tara has an intimate knowledge of our brand, our customers, and the North American market. Her strategic vision and expertise are precisely what we require to succeed in this critical region."

Tara comes with a trove of experience from a stint at some of the world's best-known brands where she has occupied senior marketing roles. She was the Global Chief Marketing and Digital Officer at Clarks and left her mark as the first ever Chief Marketing Officer at TB12, which was started by NFL legend Tom Brady.

Looking ahead, she expressed her excitement for what’s to come: “I’m looking forward to working with the team to push boundaries, foster creativity, and inspire the next generation of athletes. “Puma’s North American headquarters continues to call Somerville, Massachusetts home—right near Boston, a city that’s played a major role throughout McRae’s professional journey.
