Hundreds Of Women Business Owners Attend Woman's Small Business Summit in Kingston

The Passion to Profit: Woman’s Small Business Summit held in Kingston, PA attracted hundreds of female small business owners.

Hosted by Wild Wellness NEPA, a non-profit fund of the Luzerne Foundation conducts outdoor educational programming for individuals regardless of age, income or ability.                              

Melissa Roberts, Founder intends to bring together other women small business owners to connect and grow.

“We’re connecting women in all stages of their careers and their business journeys to connect and collaborate with each other because we believe when woman come together, amazing things happen,” said Melissa.

A small business owner, Melissa highlights and supports female entrepreneurs’ need for support in the community

“Women owned small businesses really are thriving here in Northeastern PA and we really need to give them the tools and the networking opportunities to succeed,” said Melissa.

“They’re the ones that are giving back to our communities, they’re the ones sponsoring our Little League teams, they’re the ones you’re seeing here that are actually giving back to the community,” she adds.

The event focused on development and growth has partnered with Dress for Success Luzerne County.

Linda Loop, founder and CEO of Dress for Success Luzerne County, said, “This day is for those women who have those home businesses to come on out and to talk to people and network with other women and find the resources they need to grow their small businesses.”

The event organizers highlighted a plethora of challenges faced by women entrepreneurs.

“As women we’re told we need to do everything on our own. We need to be the mom, the caretaker, the business owner, you have to wear all the hats. I have found personally when I reach out and ask for help and have a supportive connection of women, things are easier,” said Melissa.
