BRICS Collaboration Strengthens Women's Entrepreneurs' Support Network: Monica Monteiro

The Women Entrepreneur Forum (WEFORUM) was hosted in Minas Gerais, Brazil, on March 26-27, attracting a diverse audience of more than 1,150 participants. As a premier event dedicated to female entrepreneurs, WEFORUM provided an opportunity to address critical challenges and opportunities in business leadership, economic innovation, and sustainability.

During an exclusive interview with TV BRICS, BRICS WBA Global Chairperson Monica Monteiro reflected on the alliance’ accomplishments and its expanding roles in Brazil and beyond. Monteiro outlined key strategies, including education programs, cross-border mentorship opportunities, and the formation of strategic business alliances. The cause aims to foster collaboration, networking, and knowledge-sharing among female leaders in diverse industries.

"These initiatives not only equip women with the necessary skills but also create a supportive environment for them to thrive and lead innovative projects that contribute to global economic growth," said Monteiro.

The program saw discussions around empowering women in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship through multifaceted initiatives. Experts and industry leaders shared insights on fostering gender-balanced corporate policies and enhancing women’s participation in key decision-making roles across various sectors.

With 104 participants engaging in 85 targeted business meetings, the event facilitated cross-border collaboration between industry leaders from 15 countries. The hybrid event also offered videoconferencing option, ensuring broader accessibility for global stakeholders. Buyers were predominantly from the food and beverage sector, followed by stakeholders in cosmetics and apparel. Discussions spanned policy, leadership, and industry on day one, with day two highlighting R&D and international growth for women entrepreneurs in BRICS.
